My friend Harriet McLuckie says her gggrand mother , Emily was a relative of Annie Oakley. Harriet looks very much like Annie O. She can't find Emily anywhere. Anyone know her? We live in Columbia City In.
Check back several pages into the old messages. Someone else was asking for information about his relative, Martin Grove Brumbaugh. Might find a connection there.
Hi Audrey, Would love to see what information you have. I am in contact with another Brumbaugh descendent from the Huntingdon, PA area. Perhaps we could help each other. mtkaiy3@aol.com
Are there any living descendants of Martin Grove Brumbaugh? M.G. was a Brethren minister, longtime president of Juniata College, Governor of Pennsylvania, among other things. He is my fourth cousin twice removed. I am looking for information about a silver tea service that was presented to him near the end of his term as governor by his military staff. It seems as if I read something about it but I don't recall (senior moment, and more) where nor can I locate a source.

Was Henry in any way related to Nancy Brumbaugh? She was b. in Darke County, Ohio and m. Enos Byroad in Miami County, Ohio. They moved to Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana where they died and are burried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana. They had several children among whom was Thomas Neal Byroad, My GGrandfather. If you think they match, I have more information on them and their children. Hi Bob, I would love to have a photo of the Brumbaugh reunion. My GGGrandmother Nancy Brumbaugh Byroad was b. 1830 in Ohio, and this could be part of her family. She m. Enos Byroad on 4 October 1849 in Miami County, Ohio, d. 18 July 1904 in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana, burried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana. She might have even been at that reunion for all I know. My Cousin gave her brother several photos of ancestors and I can show it to him and see if he can match any of them in the photos he has. Dear List, My husband Bruce is descended from the BROWNBACKs and SHOWALTERs of SE Pennsylvania. Bruce's Mom recently sold her house. While going through the attic, clearing things out, Mom and Bruce's sister came across a box of 'stuff' that had been kept by Bruce's grandfather, Harry Baum SHOWALTER. One of the most exciting items in this box was an *original* handwritten invitation to the wedding of Bruce's great grandparents Martha BROWNBACK and Harry SHOWALTER on March 25, 1880. We've scanned the invitation and put it up on our webpage at http://members.home.net/bsandlier/jacob-martha-invite.htm. Penny, I searched a copy of "Genealogy of the BRUMBACH Families, including those using the following variations of the original name, BRUMBAUGH, BRUMBACH, BRUMBACK, BROMBAUGH, BROWNBACK, and many other connected families" by Gaius Marcus BRUMBAUGH, M.S, M.D., 1913. Unfortunately, I did not find Rufus in the book. Have you found Rufus in the censuses? In 1880 he would have been 16 years old and probably still at home, therefore would be listed with his parents. The 1880 census has a soundex for families who had children under 16, so you could get the 1880 Pennsylvania soundex for BRUMBAUGH (soundex code B651) and search for a family with a Rufus listed who is about the same age as your Rufus. Since he was alive until 1942, I would try to find him in all of the censuses from 1870 through 1920. Good luck with your search.
