    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Bruhn, Hillman, Poehler, Sachs and Krueger Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RQG.2ACEB/26.27.28.93.97.99 Message Board Post: Dear Cindy, My husband and I are looking for family connections and German place of origin for the Bruhn family from Indianapolis. My husband's father was William Henry Bruhn, born in Indianapolis February 20, 1898, the son of William Charles Bruhn and Mary Anna Krueger Bruhn and one of 12 children, two of whom died before age 5. William Charles was born Feb 16, 1870, in Indianapolis, the son of August L. Bruhn, Sr, and Mary or Marie Bruhn. August L. Bruhn was born March 27, 1841 somewhere in Germany. Mary or Marie was born April 1, 1841, also somewhere in Germany. In the 1880 census they have children William, age 9, August, age 7, Minnie, age 5, and Fredrick, age 1. Parental place of birth is listed as Prussia, but in 1880 that was most of what is now Germany. Other names that may be connected are Hillman, Poehler, Sachs, and Krueger. The families lived on the near Southside of Indianapolis. Most of the other Indianapolis Bruhns are related to us. Are you? If so can we team ! up? Charlotte Bruhn William H. Bruhn

    1. Re: Bruhns from Schlesvig-Holstein
    2. You wanted a contact in Schlesvig-Holstein who could provide help in locating your Bruhn ancestors. I have worked with Per Jessen, who has done geneological research for me there. His email address is: jessen13@worldonline.dk The names you related do not sound familiar from Per's work for me. My relatives came mainly from the far west coast of Schlesvig-Holstein, on the sea, and lived in a small village. Per may be able to help establish connections if there are some. You will need to negotiate a fee with Per.
