They left around 1888...some earlier than that. If you can get some village names, that would help. In those days people were unlikely to move even 20 miles away, and anyone with the same last name is likely a relative. I have a map of the area from that time.

I have been told that my great grandfather came from exactly that place, Holstein. I don't know when, though. They settled in Minnesota, and then branched out from tehre. My only link to the past passed away a few years ago, and i've been in a holding pattern since. I think his name was maybe Rudolf? Or Peter? I will look in my records and get his name.

I do have info. on him and Their early days in Minn. Carl was from Tetrow(?) Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany. I am looking for the middle name of Albert. The only thing I can tell you about it is that it is located just north of the town of Flensburg at the Baltic Sea. Although Wassersleben is a German town many of its citizens speak Danish.
