I just need a little more information like a birth year to fit her into a family. I have a Maria Sophia Ohlenkamp listed in my records but have no marriage information about her and only an approximate birth year. I am trying to collect as much information as possible on the Ohlenkamp family because they all seem to be related. So any information that you may have on her would be appreciated.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/RQG.2ACEB/121.3 Message Board Post: Have no info at this time on Hoyleton, but am interested in August William Bruhn, b 1867 as my husband ( William Bruhn) had a gggrandfather, August Bruhn, born in 1841, whose first child was William Charles, b 1870, second child August L. As Germans tended to name the first son after a father's father, the second after the father, I wonder if there is a connection. We know the Bruhn's arrived in Indianapolis, IN, in late 1869 or early 1870. Charlotte Bruhn--e-mail--bruhnc@hotmail.com

    2. Try two = forgot part of what I wanted to say. Our Henry Bruhns, son of Fredrich and Elizabeth was Henry William. My grandfather, John, used the name Bruhn, although the rest of the family seemed to have used Bruhns.

    2. Not sure who you are trying to reach, but I also have a Bruhn/Bruhns who came from Germany (Mackelburg) and settled in Illinois about 1850. His name was Henrich Fredrich or maybe Fredrich Henrich, I have seen it both ways. He married a Elizabeth (last name unknown) from Prussia. Believe his DOB was 1827. They had four sons all born in Illinois John, Toby, Allouis and Henry. They moved to Coffey County Kansas and all died there. John was my grandfather. I have tried for years to find Elizabeth's last name and the ships they came on. I believe that they met and married in the US, but don't know that for sure.
