Hi All, This is a bit trivia for all the Bruce's that think that they are related to the Scottish Kings, Robert de Brus came to England with William the Conqueror ob.1141 he also had a brother William where they settled in the Yorkshire area of England and today there are still many Bruce's in YRK, his second son Robert de Brus who was also of the same name,this is who the Kings of Scotland were descended from, his mother was Angus the daughter of Faulke Paynell. The first King of Scotland was Robert 1st 1306 to 1329. It was nor till I started to do research on my Grandmother side that I found that not all Bruce's live in Scotland that they originate from Yorkshire and before that Normandy (France). de Brus changed the name to Bruce by decree of the King of England I am not too sure of the year I would have too look it up.
