I would love to see some more concrete information on this line; I wonder if there is a connection with my family. I have a James Bruce, b. abt. 1768 Culpeper VA, who is supposed to be the son of a John Bruce b. abt. 1740, in Scotland. This James had a son James b. 1 Jun 1790, also in VA. Doesn't quite jive with the information given below, but who knows? My information could be wrong, or yours could. Or my John might be a son of John Bruce & Sarah Cole mentioned below. Or...who knows?
