    3. Hi Jo: Thanks so much. I did have the info on the Bruces back to Patrick, but have wondered after visiting Scotland if the family would have moved as much between generations. The distances between Banff, Portsoy, Longside and Leochel-Cushnie, where John's children were christened, is not insignficant. But, it certainly is possible. Leochel-Cushnie is a tiny rural hamlet 30 plus miles west of Aberdeen. One truly seems to go back in time to venture over hill and through forest to reach it. There is no village proper there, just an old church and scattered farms. We also met some very friendly "Highland Coos" (cattle), which look like shaggy Texas Longhorns, in Leochel-Cushnie. We took some pictures of the Leochel-Cushnie area and am thinking about scanning them and sending them on to interest Bruce cousins if I can figure out how to do so.
