    3. Sherri, This is my first time writing to the Bruce Digest. I am very interested in the Thomas Bruce and son David Bruce line. I have gathered a lot of information on Thomas, but I don't have much of anything on David. He died early and left only one child - David Bruce, Jr. The following is my descent line: 1. Thomas Bruce and Magdalene 2. David Bruce/Mary Bigelow 3. David Bruce (b. Dec. 20, 1700, Watertown, MA) Hannah Pierce (b. Nov. 1, 1724, Watertown, MA) 4. Elijah Bruce (b. Nov. 2, 1741, Greenwich, MA) Eunice Rice(b. Mar. 16, 1755, Sudbury, MA) 5. James Bruce (b. abt. 1778, Greenwich, MA) Sarah (Sally) Wright, (b. Nov. 9, 1778, Pelham, MA) 6. Ebenezer Bruce (b. Feb. 21, 1801, Greenwich, MA) Elmira Blackmer (b. Oct. 31, 1799,Greenwich, MA) 7. Charles Bruce (b. September 3, 1839, Woodbury, VT) Abby Lurancia Hall (b. June 4, 1850, Wolcott, VT) 8. George Henry Bruce (b. Mar. 21, 1868, Woodbury, VT) Ella May Pierce ( b.Montpelier, VT 9. Mason Blackmer Bruce/Catherine Heaphy 10. Betsy Bruce Olsen I have a copy of the Fahey et. al. article, but I would be very happy to receive the enlarged article and corresponding materials. Thank you in advance for what you can send. Is Cedar Rapids, Iowa anywhere near Red Oak, Iowa? Charles Bruce (#7) and his wife left Vermont in 1870 for Red Oak and stayed there until 1875. He had hoped that the weather there would be good for his health. In 1875 they moved on to Turner, Oregon where he later died. I am wondering if there might be some family connection. In a family where the children were given family names, I am unable to discover where the George and the Henry came from. I have had difficulty with the Sarah (Sally) Wright line and with the Blackmer line in Greenwich, MA. Thanks again, Sherri, and to anyone else who might be able to add to my family history.
