I have an excerpt from a family history book "Descendants of William Ballard' which lists a Mary Emma Balard 1863-1940 who married Gaston Fletcher Ellis in 1884. The article states that they had no issue but did take a teenage girl from an orphanage and gave her a home. It is this girl that I seek. Her name is Beatrice Bruce or Brust. The article stated that her whereabouts was unknown at that time and which orphanage she came from was not identified. Is there any orpanage near Greenville, WV?
