Ah, but you see, we who have to read hundreds of the damn things haven't time to read all the way through the messages. If they don't make their point clear at the beginning, then most of us busy bods put the message straight into the trash. I'm not trying to be smart, nor to create angst, but the old journo trick was to put the meat of the message at the _top_ so when the sub-editor came along with his scissors and sliced of the bottom paragraphs, the important stuff would still be there.
