I'm new to the list, and a 5gt-granddtr of Anne BRUCE and James Thomas McCOY. I've recently received an email with some information I'd appreciate clarification on. "I also have two pages that was published by THE ROYAL BRUCE SOCIETY which was found in Knoxville, Tennessee and sent to me by another researcher. These pages were part of the McCLUNG COLLECTION, East Tennessee Historical Center, Knoxville, TN. Called SOME DESCENDANTS OF JAMES BRUCE OF ABERDEEN, it lists James Bruce b ca 1634, Longside, Aberdeen Parish, Scotland; his son Thomas Bruce, christened 6 Nov 1664, Portsoy, Fordyce Parish, Aberdeen, Scotland; and eight children of Thomas: Margaret, John, Margaret, Helen, Elizabeth, Christian, Grace(Grisell),and Peter. The line of John is followed. (Anne and James McCoy are listed but their line is not carried forward.)" "The Royal Bruce Society, in a later issue, stated that THIS Thomas had been proved NOT to be the same as John's father." Can anyone enlighten me on this???
