Looking for information on the family of James BRUCE. Information I have indicates that he was b. Culpeper, VA in 1768 (though possibly as early as 1759); was m. to wife Lucretia (Lucy) GAINES 9 Dec 1786, also Culpeper, VA, and died in Chapel Hill, Bedford Co, TN 8 Mar 1822. James & Lucy had ten children (I have names, and dates for some); I am descended from child #6, Thomas E. Bruce, & his wife Mary "Polly" Kemp TURPIN. Thomas E. Bruce was b. in Wilkes Co, NC in 1797. I would love to hear from anyone who has information on this family--I am especially interested in finding out parents, etc. for James Bruce.
