    3. Hi all, In Will Bk 1, p. 78 of NC Iredell, is Peter Bruce's will, written 15 Feb 1802, probated 1803. He names wife Rachel, and children Arnold, Gelby, Joel, Wilson, Seaborn, Philip, Peter E., Lucretia Mosely, Sarah Gill. The family came from Wake to Iredell in mid 1790s and they're all together in the census 1790-1810 and some beyond. Seabourn and Wilson are in AL Limestone in the 1820 census. Seabourn has only one son at that time who is definitely Peter M. Bruce, age 3. Wilson has 4 sons under 21, I only know names of two, Wilson L. age 4 and Joel age 13, so one of the other two could easily be Thomas Seburn Bruce. A researcher has said Peter is son of Peter Sr. of NC Halifax, I think so too, but I haven't found/seen published _proof_. I had found the same evidence, but still not positive proof. Peter Bruce Sr. left a will in Halifax written 4 Jan 1760, probated at Mar Court 1762, naming wife Mary and children Peter Bruce, Ann Fountain, Elizabeth Crats [Coats], Jean Bruce, Sarah Brasswell and Alice Huett. There aren't a lot of other Peter Bruces floating around that I've found. Unfortunately the land records between Halifax and Wake/Iredell don't share a lot of names like you would hope to lend evidence to a common trail. The best link I found is in Wake county deed bk F p. 165, 11 Mar 1783, William Bruce of Halifax co, N.C. to John Martin Streator (Stretor) of same, £100, 150A in Wake co. lying on both sides of Island Cr adj. John Marr, William Turner, and Thomason. Wit: William Wright, Joseph Wheless, Israel Judge. Seabourn went to Illinois and his son Peter M. went from there to Grayson co TX. This is based on work I did for a friend many years ago, so I'm not a pro on the lateral lines. Good luck, Pam in CA
