    2. Our brick wall is Daniel BRUCE's parents. Daniel BRUCE b 21 July 1835 TN; d 19 Dec 1888 Chariton Co, MO. He is buried at Hog Ridge Cemetery near Sumner, MO. Married (1) Angeline (Ann) Linscott, dau of Israel LInscott & Sarah Frisby. She was born 16 Sept 1854 in Athens Co, Ames twp, Ohio; d 16 Jan 1882 Chariton Co, MO. Is buried at Hog Ridge Cemetery with Daniel. They had the following children: Nelson (Nels) b 1871 Chariton Co, MO; as of 1896, Nels was living in Mariposa Co, Ca. Vincent (ours) b 12 Oct 1875 Chariton Co, MO d 07 Aug 1966 Bosworth, Carroll Co, MO Sarah (Sallie/Sadie) Tennessee b 07 April 1877 Sumner, Chariton Co, MO. d June 1964 Seattle, King co, Wa. Daniel Bruce, Jr b 05 Dec 1880 Chariton Co, MO d 25 Dec 1899. Buried at Hog Ridge Cemetery, near Sumner, Chariton Co, MO. Daniel married a 2nd time to Sarah Ellen Gallaher abt 1883. Children of this union were: Nancy (Nannie) b 1884, Chariton Co, MO Cordelia (Delia) b 1886, Chariton Co, MO Lucy b 02 March 1888, Chariton Co, MO d 24 Oct 1888 Chariton Co, Mo & is buried at Hog Ridge Cemetery, MO Daniel BRUCE served in the Civil War. Enlisted at Alton, Illinois on 01 Mar 1865. His residence was Nettle Creek, Grundy Co, ILL. He was discharged at Selma, Ala by Lt. Hosner. Daniel was born in Tennessee. He was 28 yrs old at time of enlistment. Stood 6'0", had red hair, grey eyes & was fair complected. His trade was that of "Painter". Daniel's brother was Thomas BRUCE married Mary Wheelbarger. They & their family lived a short distance from Daniel & Angeline at the time of the 1870 census. The census reads that Daniel & Thomas' parents were from VA...Some of the family lore says KY. As I understand it, the parents lived close to these 2 state borders. We have no proof, but we think that William Bruce of Chariton Co, MO is another brother. We would love to get some feedback on this family pertaining to Daniel & Thomas' parents. Diana
