The Burleys in question lived in the VA/WV area in the 1800s. Their name may also have been spelled Burleigh. Thanks, Frances >> Frances: My Great Grandmother was Lydia Ann Shuey Burleigh Bruce. Her first marriage was supposedly to a Joseph Burleigh/Burly. I have not been able to confirm this, yet! Also, I haven't been able to find information that would connect the Bruce's or the Burleigh's to Virginia/West Virginia. There's a lot that I don't know, so perhaps its possible.
