Here is some additional information on my great grandparents. I hope someone out there can tell me where else to try or hopefully has information on them. According to Melrose Parish records - Proclamation/Marriages It states----- William BRUCE in the Parish of Galashiels and Helen SCOTT in this Parish and married 10th June 1845 ---- Cautioneer James Scott, Flesher, Galashiels I think Robert SCOTT and Elizabeth BURNS may be the parents of Helen -- no proof Also William and Helen had a daughter Eliza born August 24, 1948 -- no other info William and Helen came to New York in 1849/1850...
