Bailey Harper Bruce b. 10-16-1894 John Bailey Bruce was a cattle buyer or transporter from Oklahoma to Kansas City, Mo. His son, Bailey Harper Bruce was born on one of these train trips to Chicago. Family lore has said that John was originally from the hills of Kentucky or Tennessee and Johns father immigrated from Scotland to that area. Considering that the Bailey name may have been handed down the way the Harper name was, it might be assumed that John came from a Bruce and Bailey union. Interesting note: The William Bailey Bruce, b. 1820 in Va. line has several similiarities to my line, but it needs clarification. William Bailey Bruce. b. 1820 in Va. (son of Lemuel Bruce and Rebecca Bailey, b. 1829? Ky.) m. Elizabeth Cassandra Philpot c. Lemuel Bailey Bruce, Jr. b. 1849?, d. 1929? in Oklahoma. m. Lillie Florence Harper, b. 1854?, d. 1943 also in Oklahoma. Does anyone have a connection to this family line? Because of these possible connections, could there have been marriage of 2 Bruce brothers and 2 Harper sisters?
