This is a really interesting string of dates, as another group I belong to, YORKSGEN-D-request@rootsweb.com has had a bit of a discussion going recently on long gaps between generations. The "rule of thumb" seems to be 25 years a generation. If that were to hold true for you, f/Gfather/gGfather/ggGfather would equal 100 years, and even if your present age were 100, that would only stretch back to 1802. Can you give the dates for your generations, as a matter of general interest? In my case, my ggGfather was born 1781 and did not marry until 1830, and Thomas Bruce was born 1834.
