My interest is in George Bruce who died 1741/42 in Westmoreland Co., VA.  There is listed in the Lunenburg Co (VA) Court Order Book dated July 1762 and Lunenburg Co DB 7, p 129 that Hannah, the daughter of George Bruce gives her brother Charles power of attorney to collect her portion of their father's estate in the possession of Matthew Partridge of Westmoreland Co.  I am trying to get more details on the Bruce estate that Matthew had.  I am interested in knowing if there are any deeds or court cases etc that deal with this situation.  Also, what was the relationship between George Bruce and Matthew Partridge that he would hold the estate for 20 years.  Was George Bruce's wife a Partridge?  Her name was Margary Unknown.  Some say Wroe.  Does anyone have any knowledge of this?
