According to my information, this Jane Bruce was the daughter of Donald BRUCE (1742-1795) and Jane LOCKHART (?-1773) -- both b. in SCT. The above information came largely from "The Wannamaker, Salley, Mackay, and Bellenger Families Genealogies and Memoirs" by J. Scottowe Wannamaker (unknown date of pub). That work also includes a somewhat tentative BRUCE lineage going back to a Robert BRUCE, who was the 1st cousin of King Robert I. I have never been able to find any other published information to confirm or refute that lineage, and the information in the book becomes quite "fuzzy" in details re. Donald BRUCE and his parents, whose father was claimed to be David Bruce (spouse not named), the son of Robert Bruce, 2nd Earl of Elgin. Does anyone on the list have additional info. re. this lineage? Dexter Edge Jr. Olympia, WA
