Can anyone identify the parents of William Bruce and siblings outlined below -- or the daughters of Joseph Bruce -- BRUCE. Based on evidence from a letter which appears to be dated Feb1879 and posted from Glasgow, William Bruce appears to have emigrated from Scotland leaving behind a sister Elizabeth (unmarried and living in Belfast), and two brothers married and living in Glasgow. One brother was Joseph, the other is unnamed. Both had children. Joseph had two daughters both married. William Bruce married Ellen Reed (see below) on 6 February 1855 in Germantown, Philadelphia, PA and had two children, William (b. 1859) and Mary Anne (b. 1861). REED. Ellen Reed (b. Nov 1834 and d. c1914) had two sisters and a brother William. A second brother, William Lowell (b. 6 Nov 1835), apparently died in infancy. All emigrated to Philadelphia. One sister married ------ Erskine, and had at least one daughter, Mary. Her other sister, Anne (Margaret Anne), married (1) John Cruckshank living in Kensington, Philadelphia about 1853. At his death she and her son Robert (Cruckshank) moved in with her sister Ellen in 1862. Anne later remarried (2) Adam "Ad" Miller/Millar in 1865 by who she had two children. Her daughter Annie (Anne Mary) married James Rowley McCoach on 6 Jun 1872 and Adam.
