Hi Mary I checked the 1920 Federal Census and found 5 William Bruce born in Scotland (index is incomplete though). I was not able to find any that had a wife with the name of Helen. Not sure if this will help.... but it looks about right age, location of birth and is a widower. Bruce, William Age: 64 Year: 1920 Birthplace: Scotland Race: White State: Illinois County: Cook Township: Chicago He was living there with a son named William age 31- b. Scotland, daughter Abigail age 26 b. IL, son Frank C. age 22, b. IL, and an aunt (?) Barclay, Abigail age 47 - b. Scotland. It says that William Sr. is a Manager of a Seed Co., William Jr. is an Electrician - Seed Co. , Abigail is a stenographer - Seed Co., Frank is an Electrician for the Electric Co. and Aunt Abigail keeps house for them.
