However, here are some details regarding the surname BRUCE in Lumpkin County - maybe we'll find a clue Nancy Caroline BRYAN [1828-1907] married George Winston BRUCE Nancy Caroline was from Lumpkin County. George Winston was the son of Aquilla BRUCE and Besty EATON - He was born 1826 and died 1907. They were married 1850. George Winston and his brother Calloway were in Compnay D, First Regt, Georgia State Line, Blue Ridge Rangers during civil war Parthenaw or Parthena BRYAN [1840-1934] married Aquilla BRUCE 6 Sep 1855 in Lumpkin County I am fairly sure that this Aquilla is also the son of Aquilla and Betsy. 1834 GA state census shows: Hugh BRUCE - 5 people Horatio BRUCE - 3 people Elias BRUCE - 2 people George BRUCE - 4 people John BRUCE - 7 people I also located a photo of two sons of G grandparents, Tom and Marion.
