It seems that my gg grandmother, Molly Kirk, ran a house of ill repute in Montgomery Co, TN (Clarksville, across the Red River on New Providence Hill). She fancied a man last name of Bruce and he was her steady man. She became pregnant but he refused to marry her (maybe he was already married?) so she gave her son the name, John Kirk (B: 11 Feb 1876)instead of John Bruce. Molly eventually married a man last name of Stevens (Stephens?) and died in Clarksville. I would love to find out which Bruce is my relative, so if there are any Bruce's from TN or KY (Clarksville is on the KY border) and can help me out, please let me know. Thanks.
