They had two children: Martha Frances b. 1845, and Lucinda b. 1848. He married second, Louisa Jane Coats Oct 24, 1852 in Lincoln Co., TN. They had the following children: Sarah b. 1853, James Porter b. 1855, Thomas W. b. 1856, Elisa b. 1858, Richard P. b. 1859, John Allen, Jr. b. 1865, Mary S. b. 1866. His father was born in SC or maybe NC. His mother was born in NC. He is listed in the 1850 & 1860 census in Lincoln Co., TN, and in the 1880 census in Hopkins Co., Ky. Louisa Jane Coats b. June 9, 1823, and died Dec. 1883 in Hopkins Co., KY
