Ancestry.com has a free data base at http://www.ancestry.com/ancestry/search/3890.htm for Ritchie County, West Virginia which has 14 hits for Bruce. Some of them show a Bruce as a first name, but several are related to the Bruce surname. A lot of them on the Bruce history. Interesting reading. Glenda

I believe I have posted this before, but will try again. I am trying to find out information, parents, siblings, birth date, death date, etc. on ALLEN BRUCE. From the 1860 Webster Co., KY Census, I found that he married Pernecia PRICE, (b. 1822), on December 30, 1841, in Hopkins Co., KY. They had the following children: James Thomas, b. 1845; Amanda Melvina b. 1848-49; Sarah E., b. 1851; Fleming, b. 1853; William, b. 1855; Harriet, b. 1856; and George, b. 1857. In 1860, Pernecia Price Bruce married William Williams. I have not been able to find out how the marriage between Pernecia Price Bruce and Allen Bruce ended, whether it was through divorce or death of Allen Bruce. I have not been able to find anything on Allen Bruce. Does anyone have any connection to this line? Would be extremely interested in finding out any kind of info and would be totally willing to share what info I have also.
Writing to ask if anyone has the book, "The Bruces of Kildrummy", by Hugh Glenrinnes Bruce, Norwich, 1992? If any one does, I would like to make arrangements with you to have a copy made to be sent to me. Please contact me if you have this book. Thanks. Larry L.S. Bruce labruce@indiana.edu

Hello Rooters, We are looking for any information regarding 6 brothers who were born to William (?) Bruce and Ella Chambers Bruce between the years of 1885 - 1901. Their names were: George Oliver Bruce, born 1/12/1889, married to Sophie Theurich Raymond Bruce, birthdate unknown, married to Lillian Wesley Gordon Bruce, birthdate unknown, married to Ida Allison Bruce, birthdate unknown, married to Mae Lord Nelson Bruce, born 3/21/1898, married to Minnie Taylor Octavius Bruce, born October 28, 1901, married to Doris Hammond At a very young age, these boys were put in New York Orphanage (later became Graham-Windham School) in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. After completing elementary school, some of them were sent to Kansas to work on farms. In exchange, the farmer guaranteed that the boys would have a high school education. Lord Nelson Bruce is my husband's maternal grandfather so we have some information about him. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Janis Snow Mundy Reno, Nevada
Seeking info on Thomas Seburn Bruce, b.@1810 in TN. He is believed to have married a Jenna ?. They had the following children: Mary E., Sarah J., John M., James M., Thomas Jr., and Seburn Franklin. All children born in TN. If there are any Bruce researchers looking in the Cooke County, TX area, (around Gainesville), pls get with me. Teresa (Bruce) Covey
Dear Bruce Members, this his is my first time to post to your list. My husband and I live in the beautiful hills of Brown County, IN after escaping from the city life of Dallas. We attend about 25 Scottish festivals throughout the year around the country where many of the Bruce folk have their clan tents. I'd like to keep you all posted on the Scottish Festival/Game circuit as I think it is also an important link to our heritage. For all of you in the Midwest, July 17 and 18 there will be a Scottish Festival in Columbus, IN at Mill Race Park. The Ceilidh is Friday night and costs $15 it is held at the Ramada Inn. Can you tell I am the publicity chairperson for the festival? Also, I would be re-miss in not mentioning my web site at:http://www.greatscotshop.com This is the only time I'll write that we have Bruce ties, Scarves, kilt and clan items. Just wanted you to know--don't want to make this a forum to sell my wares--just mentioned it this time as it is a very important part of my life. Thanks, Sally Great Scot P.O. I am looking for descendants of Sam Anthony Bruce. He was born on July 6, 1858 in Stewart County, GA. He married Anna B. ________ and had at least 2 children, Myra and Nathan Clivton. Thanks Frances Bruce
I am looking for info on ALLEN BRUCE, dob unknown. Know that he married Pernecia PRICE December 30, 1841 in Hopkins Co., KY. He and Pernecia had at least seven children: James Thomas b. 1845; Amanda Melvina b. 1848-49; Sarah E., b. 1851; Fleming b. 1853; William b. 1855; Harriet b. 1856; George b. 1857. Most of my information came from family and the 1860 Webster Co., KY Census. Allen Bruce died unknown date, and Pernecia Price Bruce then married William Williams in 1860. Pernecia was b. abt. 1822, so I figure that MAYBE Allen Bruce was born about 1820-22. Can anyone connect to my Allen Bruce? Would love to find out his parents, siblings, ancestors, etc., and how and if he fits into any Bruce line. Thanks in advance. Jackie - Lenardo@bellsouth.net
