My John Bruce died in Elizabethtown, Ky. I believe. His wife was Elizabeth, I thought Hamilton. She died in Mississippi. They were from Maryland (Census). Some of his children were Eleanor Bruce married Wilson Burton, Williamson Bruce and John Bruce and others. All went to Wilkinson Co., Mississippi. This is my first day on this site, and I'm just looking around. My grandfather was Otha Brunner Bruce of Jackson,MS. He married Hazel Wooten in the 1930-1940s. They had two sons, Benny C. Bruce (my father) b. 1943 in West, MS and Thomas Allen Bruce b. 1946 in Rhode Island. I know my grandfather had at least one brother, name unknown, who lived in Rhode Island. He divorced Hazel Wooten Bruce and married Rosemary (maiden name unknown) and had 2 more children, Jackie and Barbara. He lived most of his life in Jackson, MS and that is where he died in 1997. Looking for information on Harvey Bruce (born VT or Scotland). Married Margaret Geisler (sp?) November 1842 in Huron Ohio. They are listed on the 1850 census with children Newell, Nelson and Mary.
