Asa and Frances are listed on the 1850 Hickory County, MO census. Listed in the very next household there is a Charlie(Charles) Bruce w/family. I am trying to track down leads. On the 1860 Census rhere was a boarder living with Asa that married my G Grandmother. The Johnson group moved to Texas with or shortly after my Harlow group moved (1874) there (Burnet County). My GGG Grandfather (Overton Harlow) married in Wilson County, TN in 1812 and Sumner County, TN has or had a large Harlow group during the early 1800s. Also, the father-law of Overton Harlow, Thomas Hunt married a woman named Bruce for his second marriage. Don't know if these Bruce families are connected or not. Confused yet? Sorry! Gary

Surnames: Kirkland/Bruce Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/XOG.2ACIB/1067.1.2.1 Message Board Post: The Declaration is published in the "Kirkland Source Book of Records" Vol.1 & 2, 1977-1983, in two versions. (KSBR is now out of print but available in some libraries). There are slight differences in the two versions of the Declaration. The Volume 2 version was typed by Ida Lea Kirkland Slate in 1943 from a written copy her mother had. The location or disposition of the original document is unknown, but the 1943 version came down through Levi Jr.'s line to Ida Lea. In 1847 Levi gave an account of his family history with his move-ments, and the names of his children, parents, and grand-parents. The Vol. 1 version omitted the name of one son, Moses (abt.1817-1859) who died in Mississippi. (Moses is included in Levi's will). In one version Levi says he was born in 1776, in the other, 1778. The 1943 version is also in "Humphreys County Heritage" vol.2 page 233, published in 1983.
