They had a daughter called ANN on June 1,1855. In time she married a JAMES FRAME and he was killed in a mining accident. They had two sons, THOMAS FRAME b Sept 26,1876 and WILLIAM FRAME b Abt 1878 in Larkhall, Glasgow. Any help in tracing this line would be appreciated please. Thank you, Bob Huggins

Hello Julia, What you say is true, except that if you go back to the 13th Cent you will find that the Scottish Bruce's descended from the Bruce family in Yorkshire, and many Bruce's lived there and many still do. The Yorkshire Bruce's in turn were established there in the 11 Cent. being of Norman-French extraction. They in their turn ORIGINATED in Scandinavia.     3. Hello, Researching the African American Family of Jefferson and Amanda Bruce. They were on listed on the 1870 Census as being in Bowersville, Hart Co, GA Prior to 1870, they may have been in Franklin Co. I am hoping that someone out there has come across them during their research. I would appreciate any information as to their ancestors and decsendants.     3. my mother-in-law's Bruce family came from Aberdeen, Scotland to Massachusetts, US. Haven't searched in Scotland to see if any siblings went to LA but will keep your info in my files just in case. FYI, NARA has produced a new (well, new since mid-1998) microfilm set that contains photographs of the card records of grave headstones provided by the Secretary of War for Civil War veterans (Union only) who died between 1879 and 1903. The 22-roll set is numbered M1845 and is available for viewing at the National Archives and at most of their regional facilities. While I haven't searched the records myself, the cards are arranged alphabetically by surname. I have discovered that the records for BRUCE are all contained in roll #3, which may be purchased from NARA. -= Bruce Gustin =-
