    2. Frances, it sounds like you've been trolling some large databases look for surname matches. (By the way, you haven't indicated where these large databases are located. Are they on CD-ROMs you purchased?) Sure, there are Jews named Zimmerman, but there are plenty of non-Jews too. The name is German for Carpenter. Yeager/Yager is a name you are most unlikely to encounter in the foreign databases. It's an Americanization of Jaeger, the German word for Hunter. Broyles and Wilhite (and variants) will not be found in the foreign databases either, both being Americanizations of German names. If you find these names in those databases it would be remarkable.
