Prof. Keith's birthdate for George (c. 1839) appears to be in error by a few years. William and Rhoda were married in late 1842. George would therefore reasonably be expected to be born in 1843 as their first child. Further, his census entries say he born 1843 to 1845. His brother Michael was born early in 1845. I am descended from Michael Broyles through his daughter Elizabeth Broyles who married William Douglass, who is probably the brother to this Rhoda. This is the only George PRESTON Broyles I can find at this time. There are a lot of George Broyles. Also, 5 years is not a long time for dates to be off. 1839 and 1844 is feasible from all the research I have done. Hope this might help.
