Message text written by INTERNET:BROYLES-L@rootsweb.com >Janice, I am missing information in my database for the husbands of two of Nicholas Broyles daughters both born in the early 1770's. Rosina and Phebe Broyles. Could these be connected to your missing female Broyles? Perhaps someone else has other clues. By 1799 I believe there were six Broyles brothers (sons of Jacob) living in the Watauga. (Washington or Green Co Tenn.) I am still trying to find or confirm the last name of Daniel Broyles wife, Mary. I recently located a book of early east Tenn land patents from the Seattle Library and noted that Cyrus Broyles purchased 28 acres on Little Limestone Creek in 1785 (#683) and Samuel Weaver purchased 600 acres on the same creek (#629) about one year earlier. Would anyone know whether Samuel Weaver had a daughter by the name of Mary? Information I have indicates that the Weavers were connected with Cyrus Broyles through Cyrus' father in law Tobias Wilhite who had a sister in law named Margaret Weaver. To purchase so much land Samuel Weaver must have been an older man and of some means. I also noted that Matthias Broyles purchased 200 acres in 1783 with Con Wilhite (on the south side of Nolchucky River) and then purchased additional land apparently near Little Limestone creek in 1784. It would appear that Matthias Broyles was there first and Cyrus followed. I didn't see a lot of other Germania names but there were quite a few names I recognized that married into Broyles families including Campbell, Miller, Gillispie, Johnston. I only copied the first twenty pages or so (until about 1786) but I would be happy to look up some Watauga lines if anyone is intersted. Would love to hear from anyone about Samuel Weaver. Oh I also noted that the Reed family was also in the Watauga. Information on the Internet indicates Cyrus's second wife was apparently a Jennie Reed. < Please go to Steve Broyle's data page which is well documented with data and look at what he has on Rosina and Phoebe Broyles, daughters of Nicholas: http://www.ultranet.com/~deeds/broyles/html/PERSONS.html Jim Albin
