Under the assumption that the William Briles that is named in in the pension record was Rosannah's father, I looked at all of the Broyles/Briles in my database to see if I could find a candidate. William A. Broyles, born c. 1790, is a good match. According to census records he has 4 daughters whose names are not known born in the period 1815-25. William lived in White Co., TN, for a number of years, but then moved to Illiinois by 1850 (where he is given as a Briles), then Mississippi County, Arkansas. Obviously some more work would be needed in order to prove a connection. See the following page for information on William. http://users.rcn.com/deeds/broyles/html/d0005/g0000090.htm#I183 "Jenny Garner" <jwgarner@texas. The pension record we have on a James Henry Young states that his wife, Rosannah, was a Briles and that they married in McNairy Co. TN on Sept. 13th 1846 in the house of William Briles. The Rev. John Jones did the ceremony and he from the Baptist Church. But in another section it states the date was Sept 10 1843. The Young family were in TN, MS, and AR. Can anyone help on these families?
