    3. I have Simeon Broyles and wife Mary Fox with 9 children. The 2nd being Sarah (Sally) Broyles, MD. William Blackburn ca 1829-25. Wm Blackburn appears in the 1830 census of Washington Co., TN with two males and one female under 5. His age is given as between 30 and 40 and his wife's age as between 20 and 30. I have nothing further on this couple. This all came out of Dr. A. L. Keith's manuscript. It has been used before to join the DAR and also First Families of Tennessee. I believe that Sarah was Sarah BROYLES, dau. of Simeon BROYLES and Mary (FOX) BROYLES, born in Greene Co., TN ca 1805; and m. William BLACKBURN on 30 Mar 1824 in Greene Co., TN; however, I do not have conclusive proof. I believe that my William BLACKBURN was the son of Archibald BLACKBURN (1751-1823) and Isabel, who resided in Washington Co., TN in the early 1800s. My William BLACKBURN and Sarah (BROYLES ?) had the following children: Isabella BLACKBURN, b. ca 1826 in TN Archibald BLACKBURN, b. 2 Jan 1829 in TN Samuel BLACKBURN, b. ca 1831 in TN Alfred BLACKBURN, b. ca 1833 in TN William Thomas BLACKBURN, b. ca 1835 in TN Simeon BLACKBURN, b. 15 May 1837 in Greene Co., TN (my gg-grandfather) Henry BLACKBURN, b ca 1838 in MO Mary Victoria BLACKBURN, b. 12 Mar 1842 in MO Elizabeth BLACKBURN, b. ca 1844 in MO Melville Rush BLACKBURN, b. 6 Aug 1847 in MO My gg-grandfather, Simeon BLACKBURN, was probably named after his maternal grandfather, Simeon BROYLES, if my guess is correct. My William BLACKBURN and wife, Sarah, moved from Greene Co., TN ca 1838 and homesteaded in Dayton twp., Cass Co., MO. There first six children were born in Greene Co., TN and their last four were born in Cass Co., MO. William died on 2 Jan 1850 and was buried in the Blackburn family Cemetery about 1 1/2 miles NW of the town of Dayton, Cass Co., MO. Sarah (BROYLES ?) BLACKBURN is listed as the head of household in the 1850 and 1860 Cass Co., MO censuses. All 10 of her children, ranging in age from 3 to 24 were living with her. Any help on tying my Sarah BLACKBURN to Simeon BROYLES and Mary (FOX) BROYLES, would be appreciated.
