If this story is not completely factual, I'm sure many of us can recall individuals who fit the description of this little old lady. At LaGrange College (LaGrange, GA) in the early 60's, when I was a student, there was just such a little old lady who had determined to get her degree at about the same age as the one in the story. She was a member of the Calloway family (Calloway Mills, Calloway Foundation etc.) and lived in a terribly expensive house with a staff of housekeepers, gardeners and chauffeurs but was not happy that she had never received her college degree. Although the story's ending is different from Mrs. Calloway's the essence is the same. I think of her often and the inspiration she generated for us "normal aged" students. Thanks for sharing with us.
