    3. Hello- I see that you have Hans Jacob and Maria married before coming to America. Do you know where and when they were married if not in VA? Hans Jacob was christened 26 March 1705 in Ötisheim, Württemberg, in what is present-day Germany. He emigrated with his family to the Colonies in 1717; therefore, he would have been 12 years old at that time, much too young to have married in Ötisheim. He was actually married in 1727 in what is now Spotsylvania Co., VA, 10 years after arriving in America. Incidentally, the original poster seems to have not done his/her research very thoroughly. The BROYLES/BREYHEL/BRUEL/ BREHEL/BRILES family was not Jewish. Hans Jacob did not marry in Germany. If one doesn't use the German "umlauts" in names, the correct spelling is "Oetisheim", not "Oteisheim". Just another example why one should be very wary of data just haphazardly strewn about on the internet/web, even on our Rootsweb Lists and Boards. If the original poster had just taken a look at Steve Broyles data, or looked on our website, he/she would have seen the original documents there and would have known the true facts. Regards, SgtGeorge
