He was born Dec 6, 1888 near Perryville, Boyle County, Kentucky. His parents were John Wesley Broyles and Drucilla Karrick. His paternal grandparents were Willis Green Broyles and Mary A. Pope. His maternal grandparents were James Vance Karrick and Harriet Skinner.

Humm. My Broyles had disappeared from my tree by then, and the lines had gone off to TN, but the names James Vance Kerrick rings a loud bell. I have lots of James Vance <Surname> and Kerrick is obviously a variant of Carrick. I would be very interested in knowing more about Drucilla if you know anything. I have John Wesley Broyles, Jr. b. 6, Dec. 1888, md. Ludmila Kulhavy 26, Jan. 1916, who was born 19, Aug. 1892. Nothing further on them. He was by his father's 2nd wife Drusilla Karrick.
