There were NOT "3 brothers"!!!!! There was only ONE man who emigrated from Germany with the 1717 Colony, Johannes BREYHEL/ BREHEL/BREUEL (John BROYLES). He had TWO sons and ONE daughter that emigrated with him, along with his wife Ursula RUOP. The sons were Hans Jacob BROYLES and, as he became known later in NC, Conrad BRILES. The daughter was Elizabeth BROYLES. For years there was a myth of another BROYLES coming some time after 1717, but that myth was debunked several years ago.
