    1. [BROYLES] BLANKENBECKLER / GERMANNA COLONY REUNION 2002
    2. Helen Cast
    3. You are invited to attend the " SECOND ANNUAL NATIONAL BLANKENBECKLER / GERMANNA COLONIES REUNION 2002 ". PLEASE MARK THIS ON YOUR CALENDAR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND>>> MAY 26th & 27th SUNDAY & MONDAY <<< WILLOW SPRINGS, MISSOURI AT THE PAVILLION IN THE CITY PARK 8:AM-5:PM EACH DAY. ALL GERMANNA DESCENDANTS ARE WELCOME & URGED TO ATTEND. Saturday the 25th is not scheduled to be part of the reunion but since most cousins will be arriving on that day & if enough people are interested Dean & Gene Lawson {sons of Ethel Blankenbeckler & Walter Lawson} will arrange a tour of the closest cemeteries & other points of interest. Also a visit to the library in West Plains could be arranged in order for us to do a little research. Some of the things to bring; Family sheets, Books, Pictures, Bibles, & any information you might have. Drinks & ice chest Chair or something that can be spread on the ground to sit on. There should be plenty of tables & benches already there. Some of our Germanna families settled in Missouri, lived, raised their children & died there. Now we are scattered all over the USA. Family reunions are a great thing. It gives us all the opportunity to converge into one place where we can exchange genealogical information, pictures, stories & have a wonderful time meeting, setting down & talking face to face with each other. Getting acquainted. People from all over came to the first reunion last year. From Missouri, California, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, just to name some. Attendance is free but you will find a container for donations to help offset some of the cost for food etc. If you want to make sure your surnames are represented in advance of the reunion send them to me & I will add them to a list & send them out as information . We are working on a program & will send you a copy as soon as it's finished. Betty Selsor {daughter of Leona Blankenbeckler & George Rothwell} will greet us all with some of her humor. Sunday morning [if weather permits] the day will begin with a country breakfast cooked on the grill in the park starting at 8:AM. Then "sign in" will be in order. We request that you bring a covered dish to share for lunch Sunday. If that is not possible then you might bring something from the local fast food places. Please let us know if you plan to attend so we can keep a head count. It's very important so we will be prepared with enough food & we will be able to assist you in any way. More Information later. I'm looking forward to meeting you all at the reunion. Warmest Regards, Contact me..... Helen Cast hcast@dmv.com OR;\ 310 PARK ROW SNOW HILL, MARYLAND 21863 `

    1. [BROYLES] Changing Email Addresses for the Lists
    2. LISTOWNER
    3. To All Subscribers: PLEASE, when your email address changes, and you send email to change the address on these Lists, IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW what the "OLD" address was. These days many users are changing servers, and I really appreciate it when they have enough forethought to let me know so I can change their List subscriptions. When the users keep the same user name, e.g., "somebody@", and change the domain part, e.g., "@whatever.com", and don't tell me the OLD email address, I CAN usually find them, but after having searched through 26 subscriber lists, and 4000+ addresses, by looking for the user name; BUT, if the subscriber has changed the address completely, e.g., from "JD1234@aol.com" to "JohnDoe@msn.com", I have NO way of knowing the original subscriber address. So, again, PLEASE include the OLD address in your emails to others, ESPECIALLY if you're changing the address for a Mailing List or Subscription List. Thanks, George W. Durman Listowner

There are two Homer Broyles from Ohio. One was born 19 Apr 1914 and died in Apr 1971. Would this be your father? This suggests that Oliver Pierre Broyles was born c. 1885, perhaps in Ohio. (I couldn't find him in the SSDI as Oliver, O, Pierre, or Ollie). This probably means he died prior to 1962. If you could locate his death certificate it will probably name his parents.
