    3. Gerald William Broyles ----- Original Message ----- From: Broyles, Bill To: jkbroyles@icx.net Sent: Monday, April 29, 2002 5:45 PM Subject: Gerald William Broyles The name Gerald William Broyles is listed on the "Lost Participants" sheet for the U.S. Government's Thrift Savings Plan, edited on April 16, 2002. He or his family may have investments due them if he can be located. He is listed as an employee of the Department of Agriculture and is from Tennessee. I hoped you may have a lead on him. See: www.tps.gov or they can be reached at (504) 255-6000 or Fax (504) 255-5199. I have no idea of how much may be in his account, but I would like for him or his family to recover whatever may be due them. Thanks for your help. ------------------------------------------------------------- Ken, your post didn't make it to the BROYLES Mailing List. Your ISP, @icx.net, has been mighty picky lately and was refusing email from the Rootsweb Lists. The "robot" at Rootsweb automatically unsubbed you from both the BROYLES-L and GERMANNA_COLONIES Lists. I just resubbed you to both. The reason I'm sending this to the List is that @icx.net also will not accept any email from @comcast.net, which is my ISP. I don't know of any other way to email you. You might consider getting in touch with your server and finding out what the problem is. George

I might be able to help you but just the name is not enough. Is Broyles her married or maiden name? Do you have any dates of birth, marriage, or death and locations. Many times if she is not in our data base we can determine what line of the Broyles family lived or married into a particular area of the U.S. Also were there any other spellings of Heailda for her. I can look up the census if I know what state (county or city is better) and what year of the census she might have lived. Also, what families did she or her children marry into. That many times is a clue. Thank you and I look forward helping you. Jim Albin

    1. [BROYLES] Where's Broylesville, or any other place?
    2. If you're curious about place names, go to www.topozone.com Enter the name of a place, plus the state. You'll get a topographic map presented to you. Buttons at the top of the map allow you to adjust the scale and size. I've found topozone to be excellent when you're interested in looking for lots of detail. If you want a "big picture" map you will be better off at mapquest.com.

    1. [BROYLES] Mary Broyles, dtr of Jacob Broyles & Mary Fleischman
    2. I think I may have found Mary Broyles b. abt 1748, dtr of Jacob Broyles & Mary Fleischman (Even as much as I would love to claim her for my own!! :-) I am doing some research on the family of Jacob Miller & Elizabeth Rymal. The only child I have ever seen listed for them is Lucinda who married Andrew Marion Broyles, son of Michael Broyles & Margaret Newberry. The real interesting thing is I found this old will of a Peter Miller who died with a wife named Mary in 1801. Michael Broyles, Sr was executor to that estate - the probate isn't dated. It was in Washington county. I am suspecting their father's may have been brothers. I just don't know who this particular Peter's parents are yet. _____________ Here's what I think. I think Mahala Miller b. abt 1823 & John Miller born Nov 1826 were the siblings of Lucinda Miller. I think the older Jacob II b abt 1805 who is residing with John in 1860 & Mahala in 1870 is also a 1/2 sibling. I think Jacob Sr who married Elizabeth Rymal was married previously & had some kids of which one of them was Jacob Miller born abt 1805. Elizabeth Rymal was married to a John Clinger 4 Apr 1811 Washington County, Tenn. That's what info I have anyway. I think the will of Peter Miller of 1801 who had the wife Mary is MARY BROYLES born abt 1748, daughter of  Jacob Broyles & Mary Catherine Fleischman. The Michael Broyles, Sr who was executor to Peter's will would be her brother and LOTS of times this is what occurred, especially with sisters. This would make Lucinda Miller & Andrew Marion Broyles 2nd cousins. What do ya think about this? Carolyn

    1. Re: [BROYLES] RE:Daniel Moore's grandson, Courtney Moore
    2. I am searching for more information on Courtney Moore, the grandson of Daniel and Rebecca Broyles Moore. I have a picture of him coming soon that was made in Colorado, maybe Denver. This pic was made of him while he was riding with Jesse and Frank James. I have some information on this subject and have more coming. All the Moore men were dark complexioned, dark eyed, tall, intelligent and very handsome. The Moore owned house where they hid out in Washington County, Tennessee is still standing and I will receive a picture of it soon. A church stood next to the house and very near, the gang gave money to the church when they were in the area. The reason some of the Moore's were on the other side of the Law, was due to Isaac being murdered by carpet beggars. The Moore boys just went after them when they grew up and did find them. You can guess the rest of the story. Most of this is a family secret and due to some elder relatives, must stay that way until they pass away. A book has some of this information in it, but someday some very interesting true stories will be made known to the public. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Janice

    1. [BROYLES] Broyles/Wilhite/Weaver Connections
    2. Has anyone researched the connections between the family of Samuel Weaver who patented 600 acres on Little Limestone Creek off the Nolchecky River in Washington Tenn about 1785 and the family of Cyrus Broyles, Matthias Broyles and Conrad Wilhite? They were all living together in the same valley in 1785 and at least two of Daniel's sons Cornelius and Samuel Thomas relocated to White County near a Weaver family. Later, Broyles married into the Weaver family including "Jefferson Broyles" etc. John Wilhite brother in law to Cyrus Broyles (son of Jacob) married Margaret Weaver according to information I have. Did Daniel Broyles, son of Cyrus marry into the Weaver family?? Some sources indicate Daniel married Mary Robinson. The Weavers were connected to the Robinson family according to an Internet source. Can anyone help with this mystery? I will research further if nobody else has. Margaret, Thomas and Samuel were all names used by the Weavers and were all Daniel's sons. Cornelius??? who knows? Thanks susan

    2. I do not live in Tenn but the place where Adam Broyles had his store was near the intersection of the Nolchecky(I'm probably spelling this wrong) River and Little Limestone Creek. I believe this is near Davy Crockets birth place in Washington County near the boundary with Green County. Cyrus Broyles had a mill near that location as well. Other Broyles were in Green County near Horse Creek. Broyles areas are located on early maps of the Watauga area. I am no expert, perhaps someone else can get more specific.

Rosina and Phebe Broyles. Could these be connected to your missing female Broyles? Perhaps someone else has other clues. By 1799 I believe there were six Broyles brothers (sons of Jacob) living in the Watauga. (Washington or Green Co Tenn.) I am still trying to find or confirm the last name of Daniel Broyles wife, Mary. I recently located a book of early east Tenn land patents from the Seattle Library and noted that Cyrus Broyles purchased 28 acres on Little Limestone Creek in 1785 (#683) and Samuel Weaver purchased 600 acres on the same creek (#629) about one year earlier. Would anyone know whether Samuel Weaver had a daughter by the name of Mary? Information I have indicates that the Weavers were connected with Cyrus Broyles through Cyrus' father in law Tobias Wilhite who had a sister in law named Margaret Weaver. To purchase so much land Samuel Weaver must have been an older man and of some means. I also noted that Matthias Broyles purchased 200 acres in 1783 with Con Wilhite (on the south side of Nolchucky River) and then purchased additional land apparently near Little Limestone creek in 1784. It would appear that Matthias Broyles was there first and Cyrus followed. I didn't see a lot of other Germania names but there were quite a few names I recognized that married into Broyles families including Campbell, Miller, Gillispie, Johnston. I only copied the first twenty pages or so (until about 1786) but I would be happy to look up some Watauga lines if anyone is intersted. Would love to hear from anyone about Samuel Weaver. Oh I also noted that the Reed family was also in the Watauga. Information on the Internet indicates Cyrus's second wife was apparently a Jennie Reed. < Please go to Steve Broyle's data page which is well documented with data and look at what he has on Rosina and Phoebe Broyles, daughters of Nicholas: http://www.ultranet.com/~deeds/broyles/html/PERSONS.html Jim Albin

    2. Jim, There does seem to be some consistency with the naming of "Peter" in the lines of this family. Like I said we have no other Peter's named in our Click family lines. Carolyn
