Surnames: BROWNLOW, MITCHELSON, O'DONNELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/zNG.2ACIB/101 Message Board Post: I have been searching for information on my great-great aunt, Nellie (Ellen) O'DONNELL, b. abt 1879 in Carna parish, Co. Galway, Ireland. My grandmother remembers that she was married to a widower named George, who had several children from his first marriage, including a daughter, Alice. I think I may have found this family: George R. BROWNLOW, b. abt 1858 in England, was working as a miner in Park Co., Montana (1900 census) and Shoshone Co., Idaho (1910 census). Ellen (or Nellie) was listed as his second wife, whom he married in 1899/1900 (in the 1900 census, they had been married 0 years). George had four children from his first marriage: William Brownlow, b. abt 1887, Illinois Mary A. Brownlow, b. abt 1891, Montana Alice Brownlow, b. abt 1893, Montana Thomas Brownlow, b. abt 1895, Montana George R. Brownlow's first wife was born in England, according to the census records. If this is the right George, then he died in the early 1910s during a visit with my grandmother's parents in Seattle, King Co., WA. If anyone has any information that could help to confirm whether this Brownlow family is indeed my gr-gr-aunt's family, I would be very appreciative.

    2. Leland or Nancy Carter
    3. Matthew, If you will contact me on my personal e-mail I will tell you about William Brownlow. He was my cousin. Myself and another cousin also a Brownlow descendent installed the tombstone in 2001. We made photos of the installation and did a private ceremony to honor him. I sure would like to tell you about his CSA military record. He was a fine Southern Gentleman, and a fine soldier.
