The following marriage report appeared in the Washington [D.C.] Post on 15OCT1997: Lee Ann Necessary Weds John Leslie Brownlee The marriage of Lee Ann Necessary and John Leslie Brownlee took place on Saturday, August 30, 1997 in a candle-light ceremony at the First Baptist Church, in the bride's hometown of North Wilkesboro, NC. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Ann Rita Necessary of Millers Creek, NC and the late C. H. Necessary Jr. She graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1989 and currently anchors the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. news on WSLS-TV in Roanoke, VA. The groom is the son of Nancy Brownlee of Fairfax, VA and Les Brownlee of Alexandria, VA. He is a 1987 graduate of Washington and Lee University and received his law degree from the College of William and Mary School of Law. He served in the U. S. Army, graduating from the military's Airborne and Ranger schools and clerked for U. S. District Judge Samuel G. Wilson. Mr. Brownlee is currently an assistant U. S. attorney for the District of Columbia. The new Mrs. Brownlee was attended by her sister, Adrienne Necessary of Durham, NC, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tracy Brownlee Carney of Falls Church, VA, Nancy Snipes of North Wilkesboro, NC and Leisa Hawley of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Brownlee's father, Les Brownlee, was his best man. Groomsmen were Rustin Necessary of Miller's Creek, Clay Carney of Falls Church, VA and Joel Fink Jr. of Midland TX. Following a honeymoon trip to Europe, the couple will reside in Virginia.
