OK, here is my most pressing problem. Thomas Brownlee was b. 1 Dec 1787 Washington Co., PA, son of James H. Brownlee and Jane Leman. I find him in the 1850 Mercer Co., IL census with wife Ann b.1797, 1860 Shelby Co., IL census with son James and family, 1870 Shelby Co., IL with grandson William and children. He is said to have married Ann McLain/McClean/McClain c1813 but Thomas' first child, James was born 25 Apr 1810. Who was James' mother and Thomas' first wife. Who is this Ann McLain? When did she die, etc. Pat
