>OK, here is my most pressing problem. Thomas Brownlee was b. 1 Dec 1787 >Washington Co., PA, son of James H. Brownlee and Jane Leman. I find him in >the 1850 Mercer Co., IL census with wife Ann b.1797, 1860 Shelby Co., IL >census with son James and family, 1870 Shelby Co., IL with grandson William >and children. He is said to have married Ann McLain/McClean/McClain c1813 but >Thomas' first child, James was born 25 Apr 1810. Who was James' mother and >Thomas' first wife. Who is this Ann McLain? When did she die, etc. I can answer a bit of this, I have two different dates for Thomas's marriage, one is 1813, the other 1809, of course, Ann McClean would have been a bit young even in 1813. She is buried with Thomas in the Cedar Creek cemetery, Sumner township, Warren county, Illinois. She died 11 February 1855. Thomas died 21 November 1871 at age 83 years. These are not my line, but since they all moved to the same place in Illinois, they are somewhat easy to track. My notes for Ann read, !She is found in the 1850 Mercer county census, Ohio Grove township, age 53 and born in Pennsylvania. She is buried with her husband in the Cedar Creek Cemetery in Sumner township, Warren county, Illinois.
