While pursuing some research on my Blackburn line, I recently had occasion to delve into "Known Military Dead During the Mexican War 1846-48", compiled by Clarence Stewart Peterson in 1957. Quite by accident I discovered that one of the 9300 names entered in this book is that of David Brownlee (Pvt, Co D, 2nd Ill) who died in Mexico on 03JAN1848. Can any subscriber fit this David into his or her family tree? Another entry, which may be of interest to our coordinator, is that for Richard Cardwell (Pvt, Co G, 1st NC) who died in Mexico on 13OCT1847. Charles A. (Al) Blackburn
