Hi all, Does anyone know who are the current owners of Torfoot Farm in Strathavon, Scotland? I did hear from someone about a year or two ago that was trying to raise money to restore Torfoot, but I unfortunately mislaid the letter. Just a really wild thought, but I wonder what the possibility would be of purchasing or leasing Torfoot Farm, restoring it, and making it a Brownlee Museum. Maybe forming some sort of Brownlee trust or co-operative to run it. If 1,000 Brownlee/ies raised $1,000 each - there's $1,000,000. How many living descendants of Torfoot alive today that would be interested? How many other Brownlee/ies would be interested? Maybe it could be some form of shareholding situation. Are there any Brownlee/ie lawyers out there that could perhaps offer some advice. I know these are pretty wild thoughts, but I know if I had the funds right now I would look into the feasibility of doing it. Anyway the goal is certainly set for me. Another thought I had to raise funds was that I would probably have enough material to publish another book - well actually it would be more than one volume and I am sure there would be no shortage of contributors out there. I certainly have the expertise in the Printing & Publishing side, although my biggest problem right now is time. However if the project could be co-authored, it would certainly alleviate that problem. Seriously, I would love to get feedback on these thoughts, positive and negative is ok. It would be good to brainstorm the idea at least. If anyone who reads this is not too sure about Torfoot Farm (or House), there is a photo published in "The Brownlee Family", published in Australia in 1986. ISBN 0 9588301 0 X.
