Yes its strange that you have received both files now and I haven't received any. I might check with Kay. Its a good idea that charts are sent to a central clearing house and I guess that would probably be best to be me. Anything that needs to be worked on could then be redirected to (whoever) I could then format the files into a pagination programme (I use Pagemaker). There would need to be some guidelines laid down so that it does not require re-keying. This is why its so important to agree on some sort chart layout as well as specifications of presentation of text for inclusion. I have noticed that some use caps a lot, and when type is supplied in caps and you need to go to lower case it requires re-keying whereas the reverse is OK. If lower case is supplied, there is a command to change to caps. I think your idea of bringing the book out after the trip to Torfoot is great, because like you say, extra information WILL be unearthed, besides up to date pics is a great idea. I must admit a Family History is incomplete without lots of pics. It pushes up the number of pages, but so what if we go to 6 volumes. The bottom line is though to get enough people to buy them when complete. I will in the meantime start working out some costings and put it to the group for feedback. Each could in turn approach their own immediate families for a response. Well that's it for now. Sounds exciting doen't it. Regards Ian PS I like your idea on the publication on Torfoot. Maybe that could be a matching volume?
