I’m curious about Mr. Browning because I’m trying to locate the place in Orange county where the Chapman home stood. My assumption is that Mr. Browning would have been a neighbor. Perhaps, they lived in a part of Orange county that became Culpeper in 1749. But, perhaps, they may have lived in the part of Culpeper that became Rapahannock in 1833. I see where a Francis Browning purchased from John Farmer 100 a. of land adj. to William Duncan on the southside of Middle Run in 1753, witnessed by Samuel Scott - all three names appear in the estate appraisement of Isaac Chapman.
