For all my fellow Browning researchers. I recently made a trip to the WV State Archives, and I found the "missing" marriage record for my ggrandmother Harriet Frances Browning & Abraham Barker Porter. Her parents as listed on the Marriage record are indeed Hiram Browning and Sarah J. Smith. There was no date given on the marriage record, just the month and year July, 1895. The marriage record confirms that A.B. Porter was born in Cambria Co., PA and Harriet was born in Logan Co. WV. The other belonging to Iverson and Corrinder P. who was "7" years of age. 4. In 1855, Hiram BROWNING married Sarah J SMITH. My supposition: My Harriet F. Browning was the daughter of the said Hiram BROWNING and Sarah J. SMITH. Does anyone out there have evidence that could either support or disprove this supposition? Anything would be appreciated!
