Hi Linda - Sarah Stanton is also a descendant of Nathaniel Browning. (Nathaniel & Sarah Freeborn 1; Wm. T. & Rebecca Wilbur 2; John Browning & Ann Hazard 3; Sarah Elizabeth Browning & Samuel Stanton 4; Sarah Stanton & William Browning 5.) I am working on an update on the RI Brownings. I have traced several lines into Ohio and would like to compare what I have with what you have. Here's a family listing for Sarah and William: William Browning[1] was born on 21 April 1756 in South Kingstown. He was an elder in the Baptist church and a farmer in Green Hill, Charlestown. His earmark was a ____ crop of both ears and a happenny behind the left ear.[2] He was listed in the 1777 Military Census as between 16 and 50 and able to bear arms. He served in the Revolutionary Army as an Ensign, Co. 4, Reg. 2[3]. He died 30 April 1825.[4] He married Sarah Stanton (#90) in 1781 in South Kingstown. She was born about 1758 and died on 2 April 1825 in Green Hill. They had the following children, all born in South Kingstown: +122 i. William Tripp Browning +123 ii. Samuel Stanton Browning was born on 2 Oct. 1792.[5] +124 iii. Elizabeth Browning was born on 19 Aug. 1795. +125 iv. Abiel Tripp Browning was born on 1 July 1796. +126 v. George Hazard Browning 127 vi. Sarah Browning was born in 1804.[6] 128 vii. Amy K. Browning was born in 1806.[7] [1] Browning, p. 193. [2] Charlestown, R.I., Earmarks, recorded 13 June 1781. I have 3 Wm Browning in my data. They are as follows: Wm Browning - 1851 RI Wm A. Browning - Henry Co. OH md 1893 Minnie M. Travis Wm Tripp Browning - South Kingston, RI, son of Welcome A. and Sarah Stanton Browning. I am interested in the Sarah Stanton as Stanton is the middle name of several Ohio Sabin males in the late 1800s. They migrated up to Gratiot Co. Michigan. The Browning/Sabin graves though are in Fulton Co. Ohio. My husband's line is Natniel - 1632 RI, William 1651 RI, John 1697 RI, John 1742 RI, Jesse B. 1792, to Maria Browning Sabin 1818 RI to Ohio and Fulton Co. Linda Swaney Sabin in Greene Co.
